If you prefer to have someone else do the work for you, here is a list of companies that provide photo scanning, restoration, retouching and enhancement services. This is a rotating list in no specific order, and we provide no guarantee of applicable skill or business practices. That said, if you have a problem with any of the companies, please let us know so we can follow up and, if necessary, remove them from the list.

ScanCafe
ScanCafe provides negative scanning, slide scanning, and photo scanning services as well as photo restoration. A unique approach is that you only pay for the scans you want to keep (50% minimum). Services US and Canada only. Low cost because most work is done at company facility in Bangalore, India. 

ScanDigital
ScanDigital provides negative scanning, slide scanning, and photo scanning services. They also convert home movies to digital video. Every account includes an unlimited online gallery where you can share scanned photos and also upload digital photos. Pricing is a bit higher than ScanCafe but all work is done in the US.

Shutterfly
Shutterfly can print your digitized photos, share them online, and create cards, calendars, photo books, mugs, coasters, and more. New customers get 25 free 4x6" prints.
